godiyo001n. Nine Elms Lane now under substantial re-development but the bus stop remains. The gas holder in the film still is part of the Nine Elms Gas Works that closed in 1970.(RL)

godiyo002n. Nine Elms Lane and the "gantries" are overhead coal conveyors supplying the gas works. One can be seen in www.britainfromabove.org.uk Image Ref:EAW001424 but an excellent, closer, picture of both, nearer to the date of the film can be seen in "Battersea Past" by Patrick Loobey, Plate 61. godiyo003n. It was one of the factory premises of T & W Farmiloe Ltd, at the time at 88 Nine Elms Lane but that small portion of road has now been renamed/amalgamated with Kirtling Street. Thankfully, the small window on the premises at the end of the pavement still survives amongst the redevelopment to confirm other research. (RL)
