stph001. Richard Attenborough, David Nimmo and a pretty lady - do you know who?
No, says Marc Wilkins, not Attenborough but Gerry Marsden (of Gerry & the Pacemakers fame) the, "pretty lady" is Anna Neagle, and the photo is from the 1968 cast of the stage musical, Charlie Girl.
Well spotted Marc!
But Di Davies says; I don't think it is Anna Neagle because she would have been 56 years old in 1960 and the woman in the photo is much younger. In fact, I believe Anna Neagle appears with Derek Nimmo in stph0030.
stph002. Bardot, maybe an unpublished photo. Have you seen it before?
stph003. Another shot of Bardot, same time, same place, same earrings.
stph004. Bardot, probably in London, late 60's. Same dress.
stph005. Brown, photo by Douglas Burn 3.12.1963 taken at the SOS Ball at Grosvenor House, London.
Can you locate the guest list?
Could the band be Edmondo Ross and his Latin American Band, or Edmund O'Ross and his Shenannigans?
stph006. Challoner, a star, at least amongst big cat lovers. Member of London's "51" Club, with a write-up in the East African Standard of 20.1.1961 appearing with a friendly cheetah, but wasn't that the name of Tarzan's chimpanzee? Or am I getting confused........again!!!
stph007. Crawford, who died on this day, 10th May thirty-nine years ago in 1977.
Probably a studio publicity photo, 1939, on double weight paper.
stph008. Crawford, in another studio shot. Does it appear in any published work?
And who is the lady on the right?
Well, the ink was hardly dry, Norma Shearer, 1939 was the answer, from Jonesy. Well spotted that man!
stph009. Crawford, an MGM publicity shot, MGM, MG 22956.
