A middle-aged owner of a roadside garage and café/bar has a young and sexy wife. Trouble is inevitable when she gets involved with Tom, the new mechanic, who accidently kills her husband in a scuffle that is made to look like an accident. Marilyn is subsequently lured by a flashy “Mr Fixit” who promises her the high life, but he runs away when she talks of marriage. Tom realizes that she cannot be trusted and rejects her. Tom and Marilyn are finally arrested when the live in maid and waitress Rosie, who herself is in love with Marilyn, realizes that she would not always be there for her and tells the police all she knows.
