escrou001. Raft in a mews, reminiscent of Kynance but not quite right. Phew, managed before my credibility was too pressurised!
escrou001n. Eaton Mews North, London SW1, the arches on the junctions of Lyall Street. SJ (Modern Photo Added: 19-01-2013)
escrou002. A bit blurred.
escrou002n. And a bit dark ... Lyall Street at the intersection of Eaton Place, SW1. SJ (Modern Photo Added: 19-01-2013)
escrou003. On route to Ennismore Gardens, SW7.
escrou004. Sign at extreme left probably says square.
escrou004n. It certainly does say "Square" South Square, Gray's Inn, London WC1. Yes, there have been some changes, see 005n (RL) (Modern Photo Added: 28-01-2016)
escrou005. Raft and Gray enter a building,
escrou005n. It is the building to the left in 004. An excellent account of the war damage sustained and subsequent rebuilding with a realignment of the frontage can be read at http://alondoninheritance.com/thebombedcity/the-lost-buildings-of-south-square-grays-inn/ A wider shot than is required to show the changes, the doorway that Raft and Gray are entering would have been about centre shot. escrou006. Does that say Red Lion Square?
escrou006n. Yes, it does say Red Lion Square. Raft is approaching No 7 (as was) and excellent pictures of the terrace (as was) can be seen on http://collage.cityoflondon.gov.uk/collage/app All given up for a new Proctor Street! (RL)
(Modern Photo Added: 28-01-2016)
escrou007n. No 10 to the left of Raft, No 9 facing and No 8 just to the right, compared to now. (RL) (Modern Photo Added: 28-01-2016)
escrou008. Parton Street, not in London. Very much in London, this is actually looking along the western end of Red Lion Square with No 6 Red Lion Square in the background and the bomb damaged St John the Evangelist and remaining terrace to the right. (RL)
escrou008n. This building stands where Parton Street once was. Street was demolished to make way for Procter Street, WC1 (on left), Google pic. TonyK (Modern Photo Added: 14-01-2013)
escrou009. Ah I know this. Lowndes Street, SW1, seen in The Servant.
